CODEPINK Organizes Die-In Protest at President Biden's Exclusive APEC Fundraiser
San Francisco, CA — In a powerful demonstration of dissent, CODEPINK will stage a die-in outside President Joe Biden's exclusive party at the Exploratorium at Pier 15 in San Francisco on Wednesday evening as part of the APEC event.
The protest, aimed at Genocide Joe's high roller fundraiser, highlights the stark contrast between these celebratory events and the grim reality in Gaza. While champagne flows at the Exploratorium, the people of Gaza continue to suffer and die.
The die-in, a solemn visual representation, demands an immediate ceasefire in response to the unrelenting bombing, starvation, and genocide on the civilian population of Gaza. This action is a poignant call for President Biden to reconsider his stance, as he has previously asserted that there is "no possibility" of supporting a ceasefire.
CODEPINK has been actively participating in street protests throughout the conference. This morning, CODEPINK activists joined the Bay Area Climate Justice Affinity Group to block the entrance to the Palace Hotel where APEC delegates are staying and the “CEO Summit” is being held. The group demands immediate climate justice through actions such as demilitarization of the planet.
The die-in at President Biden's fundraiser serves as another crucial step in CODEPINK's ongoing commitment to raising awareness and advocating for peace with justice in the face of global crises.
