This week, Congress is going to vote on a bill that would give President Trump the ultimate authority to crush political dissent in the United States. We’ve been calling it the nonprofit “kill” bill — if signed into law, it would let the President shut down any nonprofit he wants by saying it “supports terrorism.”
Organizations like CODEPINK, which have been standing in solidarity with the people of Gaza in the face of a world-recognized genocide, are the clear target of such legislation. This is just one example of the repression we’ve been facing. They want to silence us, so we must stand stronger than ever.
Will you support CODEPINK’s work for peace and justice in 2025?
We’ve written to you about Gaza every single week for over a year and spent every day educating representatives in Congress — which is why the pro-Israel congresspeople are going after CODEPINK and our allies. And we’ve been busy on other issues that are pissing them off, too!
We’ve delivered aid to Cuba and been part of a national coalition to remove Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list. We’ve been organizing to prevent wars with China and Iran, which are on the horizon if we don’t act fast. Our China is Not Our Enemy campaign has been working tirelessly to promote cooperation and friendship with China. We organized a friendship delegation to China, and we’re currently pressuring U.S. climate envoy John Podesta to stop warmongering against China and instead promote climate cooperation! We are seeing the effects of climate change in real time all over the world. It's clear that the U.S. and China have a common enemy: climate change!
The U.S. doesn’t only want war with China; as tensions escalate in the Middle East, U.S. warhawks are also pushing for war against Iran. CODEPINKers all over the U.S. are ready to leap into action and resist a U.S. war on Iran. With your help, we can keep amplifying voices for peace, training organizers, and creating educational resources for everyone to disrupt the drumbeat for war.
This may have been the busiest year at CODEPINK yet. When we meet you in the streets and hear from you, we know our feminist anti-war organizing has been necessary and successful. No matter how many new ways they come after us, we will keep demanding peace and educating people about how the war economy is destroying all of our lives.
For over 22 years, we’ve been growing — and it’s all thanks to you. Without you, CODEPINK wouldn’t even exist. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making CODEPINK a home for us and over a hundred thousand people around the world.
With endless hope and gratitude,
Danaka, Adnaan, Ann, Aaron, Farida, Grace, Jasmine, Jodie, Marcy, Marie, Mark, Medea, Megan, Melissa, Michelle, Nancy, Nour, Nuvpreet, Pam, Ryan, Terry, and Tim
