Every year, thousands of people converge in New York City for one of the world's largest climate events, "New York Climate Week," which runs along side the United Nations General Assembly. The official event often leaves out the Elephant in the Room, the war machine. It also brings thousands of climate organizations for counter-mobilizations, events, and strategic organizing that gets at the root of the systems driving climate crisis often left out of the official discussions.

Moments of these are some of the most important opportunities that we have to shine a light on this Elephant in the Room, and build a larger movement for the people and planet, and against war, militarism, and occupation.

Climate disasters are only escalating, but so are our possibilities to make immense progress: a vote on a possible $1.5 Trillion Pentagon budget is on the horizon, and for the first time in years, there is momentum to cut it. We will be across the city throughout the week to show that in order to save the planet, we need to Cut the Pentagon and dismantle the war economy.

This year, Climate Week is September 20-27th, with events happening throughout the week, and likely a little before and after as well. Whether you're joining us in NYCย for one hour or the whole week, sign up here!ย
