Rise. Love. Resist. This is the mantra CODEPINKers have been repeating this past week, a phrase that reflects what we have been doing all these years. It is the heart of our work and our intention as we move forward, as we regroup and organize in the face of the threats of an impending Trump presidency. To rise in loving resistance is the only way to counter the messages of hate so prominent on the campaign trail, to heal and to come together to create that better world which is possible. A world of justice, equity and peace.
Will you come together with us and pledge to Rise. Love. Resist? We will offer tools and opportunities to engage and ways to be there for those most at risk in 2017.
The first step is to sign the pledge. In the days, weeks and months to come, there will be actions to take, ideas to explore and many ways to resist accepting and normalizing a war on the planet and some of her people.
We have been up against dark times and we have watched them descend on entire countries as we are exposing in our People’s Tribunal on the Iraq War. We must continue to engage, strategize, find new tactics, disarm hate, explore new relationships, disrupt what does not create conditions for life, justice, equity and peace.
The first step is to make the commitment with us. Sign the pledge and let’s all come together to rise in loving resistance to hate, violence and war. Stretch a little and make a sign for your car window or yard that declares your commitment for your neighbors to see. Wear a pink armband to show your intention to the world: This is safe space, this is a sanctuary. Make your sign and armband and post on our Facebook page, share your ideas with us.
Always in solidarity,
Alice, Alli, Ariel, Chelsea, Ciara, Jodie, Mariana, Martha, Max, Medea, Nancy, Paula, Sam and Samira
P.S. CODEPINKers around the country are already making plans to come together to rise, love and resist at the Inauguration in DC in January. Sign up here if you want to be part of it.
