Dear friend,
Are you tired of seeing trillions of U.S. taxpayer dollars wasted on senseless, bloody wars in distant nations? We wanted to make sure you got a chance to sign our letter to Congress asking them to vote no on $7 Billion+ of military funding that would escalate the U.S. hybrid war on China and potentially start yet another forever war.
After our disastrous war in Afghanistan, Congress should be cutting military spending and investing in peaceful solutions to address real issues, instead of creating new humanitarian disasters through aggressive overseas militarism. Instead Congress has been working on wasteful anti-China legislation like H.R. 3524 The EAGLE Act, which would appropriate $7 Billion+ of our tax dollars to military contractors and $225 million to military training in the Asia-Pacific region, exacerbating the climate crisis through military infrastructure and pollution, while spreading racist anti-China propaganda through the U.S. Agency for Global Media.
Now we need you to Sign our Letter to Congress demanding that they vote no on escalating the U.S. war on China in the EAGLE Act! We know U.S. imperialism impacts people outside of the United States the most, so we invite all people to send a message to Congress that the U.S. war economy must end!
The military spending in the EAGLE Act is anything but “defensive” as Department of Defense spending pays for aggressive war games at least 6,000 miles away from the U.S. mainland. But China's military does not project force and aggression around the world, whereas we have China surrounded with our forces, overseas bases, and missile systems. The U.S.’s war games and military buildups exacerbate the climate crisis and directly harm and violate the sovereignty of indigenous Pacific Islander communities in Hawaii, Okinawa, Guam, and the Marianas. Even more revealing, the EAGLE Act’s text refers to the Asia-Pacific region as “the United States Indo-Pacific” in a bold assertion of the U.S.’s belief in its right to dominate and militarize the Asia-Pacific region across the ocean.
We have watched as numerous dangerous and expensive packages of legislation isolating China have passed the Senate with little debate and even less media coverage — now we have a chance to push back against the U.S.’s next forever war and stop The EAGLE Act in the House! Let your Representative know that China Is Not Our Enemy and that we need legislation that encourages cooperation with China, not militarized aggression and racist propaganda.
