CODEPINK Holds Ribbon-Cutting and Reception for World BEYOND War’s New Billboard Campaign
Oakland, CA -- The San Francisco Chapter of CODEPINK is proud to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception for the unveiling of World BEYOND War’s new billboard campaign.
This event marks a significant step forward in the mission to promote alternatives to war and violence. CODEPINK is honored to welcome David Swanson, the esteemed co-founder and Executive Director of World BEYOND War, who will be joining us from Charlottesville, VA, to participate in this special occasion.
As a testament to the power of collective action, six peace billboards have been erected in Oakland and Berkeley, made possible through the generous support of Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place just across the street from one of these impactful billboards.
The reception will pay tribute to the remarkable efforts of the Bay Area's peace and justice leaders, featuring esteemed guests including musicians, poets, and activists dedicated to positive change. Notable attendees include Keith McHenry, Founder of Food Not Bombs, and a lineup of influential speakers such as Francisco Hererra, John Lindsay-Poland, Paul Cox, Cynthia Papermaster, Jackie Cabasso, Jim Haber, David Hartsough, Nell Myhand, Dennis Bernstein, Joel Eis, Hassan Fouda, Hali Hammer, David Vine, and Michelle Vong.
In addition to celebrating these achievements, the reception will serve as a benefit for Food Not Bombs, highlighting the vital work of its founder, Keith McHenry. Attendees can also look forward to enjoying delicious home-baked pies generously provided.
This event promises to be a gathering of minds and hearts committed to building a more peaceful world. We encourage all those passionate about peace and justice to RSVP and reserve their spot today.
