Tell Biden to take Cuba off the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism! |
Dear Friend,
Thank you so much for your generous contribution to the Fire Relief Campaign for Matanzas, Cuba! With your help, we raised over $60,000 in record time. We have been rushing supplies to the hospitals there, including surgical gloves, IVs, naproxen and other pain medications. We sent over 1,000 trocars for IVs for adults and children receiving medical care, and we delivered 2,000 pounds of milk to Matanzas and 1,000 pounds to the pediatric hospital in Holguin.
We also want to thank the many individuals and groups who helped, including The People’s Forum, the Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba (Italy), El Diario Latinoamericana, and the Brisbane Austria Cuba Friendship Society.
In the coming weeks, we will continue buying and delivering medical supplies to help hospitals and people affected by the disaster in Matanzas as well as other parts of Cuba.
As we send this urgent humanitarian aid, we are also pressuring the Biden administration to lift the sanctions that make it so difficult for Cuba to provide emergency assistance to its citizens. Please make sure you have signed this letter to President Biden asking him to take Cuba off the State Sponsors of Terrorism list.
In Solidarity,
Carlos Lazo for Puentes de Amor and Medea Benjamin for CODEPINK
P.S. Please consider joining CODEPINK in Cuba this November to learn first-hand about the devastating impacts of the 60-year Cuban Embargo and how humanitarian projects can benefit the Cuban people. Enjoy Cuban food at cooperatively run paladares while engaging alongside Cubans in specially selected cultural activities and community projects including an agricultural coop where you can learn all about organic farming in Cuba.
