Students all over the US are creating encampments on their universities to protest the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Police have attacked these encampments at the behest of the college presidents. Students want their colleges to divest from funding Israel in order to stop the flow of weapons which are being used against the people of Gaza, a majority of whom are women and children.
The students see the truth no matter how much mainstream media talks about Israel defending itself and Hamas. This media wants corporate calm, the calm that insures profits keep rolling in for corporations, the stock market is ok, and business as usual continues for those at the top.
So what if Biden looks the other way as infants die from their injuries from Israeli bombs, as children become orphans from Israeli attacks, as people eat leaves and animal food for survival. A genocide is unraveling and Biden looks the other way.
Students are outraged, sickened at the complicity of their country in this genocide. We Americans are supplying the weapons for this genocide. Silence is not an option. Speak up. Speak out. March. Take to the streets. Build encampments. What else is there to do? We are already hanging our heads in shame for this immoral support of Israel.
This student movement has made us lift our heads a little. La lucha continua (the fight goes on!) The whole world is watching as our students say, No! Not in our Names!
We must not only support them but we must join them!
