Rising Together Against Occupation People’s Pop-Up Event at Eastside Cafe to Unify Communities and Resist Oppression
Los Angeles, CA- Join CODEPINK, Latino Muslim Unity, LA Raza Educators, Palestinian Feminist Collective and more for the Rising Together Against Occupation, A People’s Pop Up at Eastside Cafe on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 11 AM to 4 PM. This unique pop-up aims to bring together individuals committed to combating occupation through a fusion of art, education, culinary delights, and solidarity.
The event will serve as a platform to unite diverse communities in the shared struggle against oppression. Attendees are invited to explore the interconnected struggles of Palestinian, Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities, fostering an environment of learning and mutual support.
“This community backed pop up speaks to the collective power needed for liberation. As we participate in several teach-ins at this event, we will hear from our Palestinian, black, brown, and indigenous brothers and sisters. As a community we must realize none of us are free until we are all free,” explained CODEPINK’S West Coast organizer, Ysa Gonzalez.
The People’s Pop-Up will feature a range of activities designed to promote healing, creativity, and community-building. Participants can engage in art-building sessions, share stories, and indulge in the flavors of resistance through tacos for Gaza.
The event will take place at Eastside Cafe, located at 5469 Huntington Dr, North Los Angeles, CA 90032, United States, from 11 AM to 4 PM.
