CODEPINK to Protest Rep. Norma Torres's Support for Israel's Genocide in Gaza
ONTARIO, CA – CODEPINK Inland Empire, in collaboration with several local organizations, will be holding a protest against Rep. Norma Torres's support for Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza. The demonstration will take place outside Rep. Torres’s office on Friday, May 31, at 2:00 PM PT.
Despite widespread calls for an end to the U.S. support of the ongoing genocide that has claimed the lives of over 36,000 Palestinians, Rep. Norma Torres has continued to support Israeli policies, including meeting personally with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
"Norma has received almost half a million dollars from AIPAC and her unconditional support for Israel's actions is way out of step with her constituents," said Jen Grigorov of CODEPINK Inland Empire.
CODEPINK Inland Empire will be joined by Ontario United for Peace, Chino Valley 4 Palestinian Liberation, So Cal Ceasefire, and Inland Valley Muslims. The protest will feature strong visuals, including women holding babies and participants with hands painted red, symbolizing the bloodshed in Gaza.
This protest is part of a broader movement advocating for a free Palestine and raising awareness about the impact of U.S. foreign policy on the region.
