San Francisco CODEPINK To March for Gaza Across Golden Gate Bridge in Solidarity for International Women's Day 2024

San Francisco, CA – CODEPINK SF Bay Area announces its upcoming march across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge commemorating International Women's Day (IWD) 2024. This significant event serves as a platform to amplify our demands for reproductive justice in Palestine and globally.

As a feminist anti-war organization, CODEPINK recognizes the importance of uniting women's domestic and international struggles.  By focusing on reproductive justice, we aim to underscore the interconnectedness of women's rights across all borders.

“Reproductive justice includes the right of all parents to live and raise a family in a safe and healthy place, with adequate food, water and all essential life-sustaining needs,” says organizer, Toby Blomé.  “Because of the horrific and worsening humanitarian crisis in Palestine, with tens of thousands on the brink of mass starvation amidst the ongoing slaughter, Gaza will take front and center in our IWD March & Rally.”

Event Details:

  • Location: Golden Gate Bridge, Southeast end, San Francisco, CA
  • Date: March 9, 2024
  • 11:30 am (PST), Gather at Welcome Center Plaza, SE end of GG Bridge
  • Noon:  March begins on eastern walkway.
  • 1:30 pm  Post-walk Rally at Welcome Center Plaza

The ongoing genocide in Gaza is a reproductive justice issue.. The Biden administration's actions, bypassing Congress to perpetuate violence in Gaza, exacerbate the reproductive justice crisis for women and families in the region. Simultaneously, within the United States, the administration's failure to take decisive action on reproductive justice while neglecting the care of refugees, displaced individuals, and asylum seekers underscores the urgent need for global solidarity.

The march across the Golden Gate Bridge is part of CODEPINK's nationwide International Women's Day campaign. By bridging local and international struggles, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for reproductive justice and gender equality worldwide by demanding an end to war, occupation and genocide.
