Join our Palestinian comrades in calling for the release of Ahmad Sa'adat! |
Dear friend,
Fourteen years ago Israel sentenced Ahmad Sa'adat to thirty years in prison. CODEPINK is joining Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network in their week of action (Jan 14-24) to call for his release.
Sign our letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken telling him to call for Ahmad's release!
Two years before his sentencing by Israel, he was kidnapped by occupation forces from the Palestinian Authority-run Jericho prison. Ahmad's story is a common one. He is one of thousands of Palestinian political prisoners who languish in Israel's prisons for demanding rights for Palestinians.
During Sa'adat's early days in prison he was imprisoned by guards from the U.S., Canada, and Britain. The direct involvement of the US, Canada and Britain in his imprisonment illustrates why international action in this case is so necessary.
As Sa’adat was persecuted by the Israeli occupation for leading an “illegal organization”, Palestinian organizations are listed in the U.S., Europe, Canada and elsewhere on so-called “terrorist lists”. These designations are used to criminalize resistance to occupation. Now, the Israeli occupation is attempting to use terror designations to suppress organizing and activism from grassroots organizations and civil society groups as well. We stand in solidarity with our friends at Samidoun who are calling for the release of Ahmad and other political prisoners!
Add your name to the letter demanding Ahmad's release!
“The Palestinian struggle for national liberation is part and parcel of the international movement of peoples for national liberation, international racial and economic justice, and an end to occupation, colonialism and imperialism.”
