At CODEPINK, we remember our roots before the US invasion of Iraq: mothers and other women who came together in front of the White House to protest, fast, and vigil, shouting NO! to war and violence. This Mothers Day, we’re returning to our roots, and to the original Mothers Day proclamation, by bringing mothers together from all over the world for a CODEPINK Peace Festival in front of the White House on May 7 from 2-8 pm to declare that it is time to disarm!
The Mothers Day Peace Festival will be a space of sharing, singing, dancing, healing, commemorating, and celebrating. Women will tell their stories of pain, loss and joy from so many backgrounds that are different, yet connected. From Palestine to Korea to New York to Washington DC, mothers will rise to say Disarm!
Can’t make it all the way to DC? Consider making a donation to CODEPINK so we can stay in the face of power like we have been for over a decade, and then order your mama something from our pink store so she can rock the message to end war.
