Downey Community to Unite at City Council Meeting for a Ceasefire Resolution 

Downey, CA -- Local organizations and neighbors of the Downey community will gather at the Downey City Council Meeting to demand the passage of a ceasefire resolution amidst ongoing conflicts.

Scheduled to convene at 5:00 pm outside Porto's Bakery, participants will rally together in solidarity before marching towards City Hall to voice their demand for Downey to join the growing list of cities and towns nationwide to pass a ceasefire resolution. 

"This is a crucial moment for our community to come together and advocate for peace," remarked Glo, one of the action organizers. "We must make a solid statement to the City Council that a ceasefire resolution is imperative to reflect the fact that Downey does not support the endless violence and death that is a result of Israel's genocide in Gaza.”
