CODEPINK Greater Dallas and Allies to Hold Free Screening of 'Earth's Greatest Enemy'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Media Contact: Melissa Garriga | [email protected]

CODEPINK Greater Dallas to Co-host Screening of 'Earth's Greatest Enemy' on August 27

DALLAS -  CODEPINK Greater Dallas will co-host a free screening of the documentary "Earth's Greatest Enemy" on Thursday, August 27, at the Angelika Film Center and Café, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas 75206. The event will run from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CST.

The evening will start at 5:00 p.m. with a reception, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with community members, access organizational and educational materials, and sign letters and petitions. At 6:00 p.m., the screening will begin, followed by a brief introduction. Approximately at 8:15 p.m., director Abby Martin will join via Zoom for a Q&A session with the audience. Time permitting, attendees will have the opportunity to share questions and discuss updates on environmental concerns related to local military-industrial sites.

"Earth's Greatest Enemy," directed by journalist Abby Martin, examines the environmental impact of the U.S. military, highlighting its role as the world's largest institutional polluter. The film combines investigative journalism, striking visuals, and stories from affected communities to challenge audiences to reconsider the hidden costs of a global military presence and its planetary consequences.

The event is co-organized by CODEPINK Greater Dallas, Dallas Peace and Justice Center; Veterans For Peace Chapter 106; Pax Christi Dallas; About Face Veterans Against the War, South Central Region; DFW Anti-War Committee: Party of Socialism & Liberation, Dallas; Coalition for Environmental Justice, Dallas; Vecinos Unidos DFW; Dallas Liberation Center; and Global Climate Strike Dallas.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Leslie Harris at [email protected].
