The International Day of Al-Quds - Dallas Community Members Continue to Show Solidarity
DALLAS, Texas – CODEPINK joins the Palestinian Youth Movement, Muslim Congress, CAIR Texas, and a larger solidarity coalition for a march and rally commemorating "The International Day of Al-Quds" on the Grassy Knoll Friday, April 5 at 2 pm. This event is one of many as people across the world mark Al-Quds Day to stand firmly with the Palestinian people as they face over 75 years of ongoing colonization and oppression by Zionist forces. This Al-Quds Day is extremely significant as we are currently witnessing a devastating genocide inflicted upon the people of Gaza. Over 32,000 Palestinians have been killed, over 70,000 have been wounded, and thousands more remain missing or buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings in the span of over 160 days.
Event Details:
- What: The International Day of Al-Quds March + Rally
- When: Friday, April 5, at 2pm
- Where: Grassy Knoll, Dallas, TX
There will be a Jummuah prayer led by Imam Maulana Jawad Wahedi at 1:30pm followed by the rally.
In light of the White House secretly approving a new military aid package including 2,000-pound bombs and aircraft to Israel the need for solidarity and collective action has never been more apparent. The new arms packages include more than 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs and 500 MK82 500-pound bombs. The 2,000-pound bombs have played a major role in Israel’s slaughter of more than 32,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
Earlier this week, Israel killed 7 humanitarian aid workers with World Central Kitchen in a very deliberate attack. After weeks of seizing Al-Shifa hospital, the scene upon the IDF’s withdrawal is harrowing. How many more innocent people have to die?
