CODEPINK Coachella Valley Deliver Peace for Palestine Message On Coachella Music Festival Opening Day
Activists Dropped Multiple Banners Over Overpasses, Demanding an End to U.S. Arms Support for Israel
Coachella Valley, CA — CODEPINK Coachella Valley staged multiple banner drops during the opening day traffic jam of the Coachella Music Festival. Multiple banners and signs dropped over various overpasses, demanded an end to the genocide of Palestinian people and calling for an immediate halt to U.S. arms support for Israel.
The action aimed to contrast the carefree, vibrant energy of the festival's kickoff with the dire situation in Gaza. The activists demand justice and solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian population.
"The genocide of Palestinian people has to end, and we demand that the United States stop arming Israel, who are the ones carrying out that genocide," said Josh Dunn, CODEPINK Coachella Valley organizer.
For over 75 years, Palestinians have endured systematic oppression, and CODEPINK stands firmly in solidarity with their struggle. This protest aims to say no business or festivals as usual as long as the genocide continues in Gaza.
