Dallas Peace Organizations to Hold “STRIKE FOR GAZA! SHUT DOWN GENERAL DYNAMICS!” Protest as Part of National Day of Action
Dallas, TX - In response to the urgent call for action to support Palestine, CODEPINK Dallas is joining forces with a coalition of organizations for a protest outside General Dynamics in Garland. This event, scheduled for April 15, 2024, aims to protest the complicity of General Dynamics in the ongoing genocide in Gaza and to demand immediate action to end the arms trade to Israel and halt U.S. imperialism.
Under the banner of a nationwide "Strike for Gaza," participants are urged to close their businesses, call out of work, walk out of classes, and refrain from spending money as a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people. The protest aims to send a message to General Dynamics and other war profiteers that their actions are unacceptable and will not be tolerated in Dallas.
"We cannot stand idly by while innocent lives are lost and communities are destroyed in Gaza," said Jasmine, a representative of CODEPINK Dallas. "It is imperative that we take a stand against the complicity of companies like General Dynamics and demand justice for the Palestinian people."
The action is scheduled at 4:00 PM at the General Dynamics facility located at 1200 N Glenbrook Dr., Garland, TX. Protesters' demands include an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the arms trade, and the closure of General Dynamics' facilities.
