CODEPINK Launches “Expose AIPAC" Campaign with New Website and People's Teach-in Inside Congress
Washington, DC – CODEPINK, along with Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR), is set to hold a teach-in inside the halls of Congress on Wednesday, highlighting the dangers that pro-Israel lobbies like AIPAC pose to our democracy and their role in protecting Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine. This event comes just one day after the highly anticipated race between Rep. Cori Bush and county prosecutor Wesley Bell in Missouri's 1st congressional district, a race significantly impacted by AIPAC's financial interference.

Coinciding with the teach-in, CODEPINK is launching its "Expose AIPAC" campaign with a new website, Bought By Zionism, designed to track how AIPAC is undermining American democracy.
AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, is the most powerful pro-Israel lobby group in the U.S. It claims that the "U.S.-Israel relationship is a mutually beneficial partnership that saves lives and advances American interests and values, helps protect our troops, strengthens our economy, and addresses 21st-century challenges." In reality, AIPAC's influence hinders elected officials from advocating for a ceasefire and an end to the genocide in Palestine despite widespread public demand.
In this pivotal moment, the teach-in and this campaign aim to show how both U.S. policy and our electoral system have been hijacked by pro-Israel lobby groups, and why countering the influence of AIPAC is so critical for the health of our democracy.
