We won!
You helped us write to Attorney General Rob Bonta a few weeks ago to block the merger between Warner Brothers and Paramount that would further monopolize the warmongering media outlets. You signed our petition, we delivered it, and not only did his office respond, but he also launched a nationwide lawsuit to stop the merger.
Read the AG's response below:
Thank you for your correspondence to the Office of the Attorney General. Our office has reviewed the information you provided in relation to your concerns about the proposed merger between Warner Brothers and Paramount. We will be in touch if we need additional information. As the Attorney General has made clear, we understand that this transaction could have significant impacts in California and across the nation and are carefully reviewing the merger to determine whether it raises competitive concerns.
We appreciate being apprised of your perspective in this important area regarding potential antitrust concerns.
Again, thank you for sharing the comments and views expressed in your correspondence. We always appreciate hearing from citizens on matters of public concern.
The same day we received this letter, the news broke out that California and 11 other states are suing to block the merger in federal court. We are seeing an unprecedented response to a major corporate merger thanks to the swift action and commitment to honest journalism from people like you. This is the way we win the hearts of the masses when we talk about struggles like Palestine and beyond!
Send Rob Bonta a thank-you letter to provide further encouragement in this fight!
News & Analysis

👉🏼 The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, just admitted that Israel is applying the "Rafah model" to southern Lebanon. On July 9th, Katz stated: "I said that Southern Lebanon would become Gaza...We would destroy everything there. And that is what we did." He went on to confirm that Israel has destroyed about 90% of the homes in southern Lebanon. This is ethnic cleansing and genocide — just like in Gaza.
👉🏼 Last week, Representative Ro Khanna was detained for 90 minutes by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Israeli settlers armed with M4 rifles blocked the road Khanna and his team were on and called the IOF on them. A few days later, the father of Saif Musallet, a Palestinian-American who was killed by Israeli settlers a year ago, arrived with a CNN crew to survey the area where his son was murdered. Israeli settlers ambushed the crew, blocked them in, and tried to puncture their vehicle's tire with a knife. Israeli settlers in the West Bank are becoming more and more violent and emboldened; what Palestinians have been dealing with for years on their own land is now happening to U.S. media crews and members of Congress.
Personal Note From Jenin

Palestine from the sky, picture by me
The past two weeks, I had the privilege of visiting my family in Jordan. I call this a privilege because U.S.-Israeli violence has ripped so many families apart in the region, and I recognize that no one is spared from this nightmare. On my flight back to the U.S., we flew over Palestine. Miles above the ground, I could see the signs of apartheid; Palestine was sectioned off and separated into different roads, with checkpoint containers visible from up in the sky.
I was emotional the whole 20 minutes we spent flying over Palestine, completely shattered that this was the only way I could see the land for the time being. The worst part of the whole experience, though, was when we reached the coast. We flew right over Tel Aviv, and I could clearly see the pristine beaches and boats floating on the water, a playground for Israeli settlers. Then, my eyes drifted a few miles down, and all I could see was the smog over Gaza's shoreline. There was a stark difference between the green and sandy land of the rest of Palestine and the gray and foggy view of Gaza. I could see the rubble, the destruction, the devastation. Hovering above Gaza, I could see lights blinking in the sky, and I immediately realized I was looking at the drones that have terrorized the people of Gaza for three years.
What I experienced from a plane manufactured by one of the weapons manufacturers that caused the destruction I was looking down upon was something so visceral. It wasn't just sadness and heartbreak; it was an intense feeling of anger and oppression. All of this death was caused by people who know nothing but greed and who have left the people to deal with the consequences of their actions. What was once a bustling city is now a wasteland, not just visible on the ground, but from any viewpoint.
I will also call my feeling of anger a privilege, as I know many people in Palestine feel dejected and demoralized from the injustices they face every day. I will use my anger as a tool in this struggle, because even if Gaza is in ruins right now, I know it won't always be this way.
Until liberation,
