We’re having a Peace Camp!

PEACECAMP_17_A.jpg

CODEPINK invites you for a weekend of healing, storytelling, teach-ins, skill-sharing, coalition building, camping, singing and dancing under the stars at the breathtaking Ocean Song in Sonoma County.

Registration is HERE! Price includes meals!

We are building for a just transition from the war economy to networks of local peace economies. Our vision is to grow and deepen our community by coming together to examine our role(s) in the war economy and learn together how to shift our individual and collective values and behaviors in service of uplifting local peace economies.

We commit to co-creating as brave a space as possible for our participants & movements to connect, heal, and unite! We will offer an anti-oppression / consent / accomplices, not allies, nonviolent communication training upon arrival.

Joining us will be Ohlone leader Corrina Gould to speak on the indigenous hxstory of the Bay Area, the salmon run, space and place, Palestinian American activist Nadya Tannous of Interfaith Peace Builders to speak about the power of building transnational solidarity & accountability, Ivette and/or Amber Rose of CURB (Californians United for a Responsible Budget) to discuss the movement to resist the theft of tax-payer money for jail expansion, Irene Montantes will be speaking on how DivestLA has succeeded to initiate LA’s divestment of 40 million from Wells Fargo & about the launch of Public Bank LA, Peyton Provenzano will speak about Berkeley Cop-Watch and Rapid Response to Mental Health Crisis, Paula Kahn will offer anti-oppression, consent, & non-violent communication pedagogy, Christina Mansfield will be speaking on Community Initiatives to Visit Immigrants in Confinement (CIVIC) and their National Hotline, Nina Wisewill share wisdom on autobiographical improvisation and therapeutic theatre techniques, Jasmin Tobar of CISPES will be repping the Central American struggle by talking about intergenerational trauma & oral hxstories, Justice Now will be sharing their powerful visions for a world without prisons and more to come!

On Saturday, Jodie Evans, co-founder of CODEPINK will be guiding us as we individually and collectively examine our roles, behaviors, and cultural practices that sustain a war economy and we will participate in exercises to support our individual and collective shift towards local peace economies.

Come for the weekend, or for a day. You can camp outside (bring/borrow a tent!) or sleep in the barn for a slumber party!

We can’t wait to Rise, Resist and Love with you,
Ann, Ariel, Brienne, Haley, Jodie, Katie, Mariana, Mark, Mary, Medea, Nancy, Paki, Paula, Taylor and Tighe
