Unilever has silenced Ben & Jerry’s independent board for years over their support for justice in Palestine. Now, they're threatening to "dismantle the board and sue individual members if Ben & Jerry’s issued a statement supporting peace and a cease-fire." Ben & Jerry’s is fighting back in court to defend its right to advocate for human rights.
Unilever has gone so far as to block Ben & Jerry’s from supporting Palestinian farmers, refugees, students on campuses, and efforts in Congress to stop U.S. weapons from going to Israel. In the face of this repression, Ben & Jerry’s remains one of the only major companies willing to call for a ceasefire.
