CODEPINK San Pedro will be joining Labor 4 Palestine at their booth and be IN the march with thousands of labor activists in the 46th Annual LA/LB Labor Day Parade, the largest Labor Day event on the West Coast. Come be in the march AND/OR help pass out literature and educate the labor public at the Labor 4 Palestine booth at Banning Park after the march!
Free food, speakers and music until 3pm at the Park after the March. Come, help us reach many thousands of allies at this wonderful Labor Solidarity event! **We encourage march participants, but if you cannot do the march, the Labor 4 Palestine booth will be opening at 10AM. Come help set it up and run it!**
PARKING WILL BE AN ISSUE! CARPOOL! BE PREPARED TO COME EARLY AND PARK A COUPLE BLOCKS AWAY. Here are the coalition's instructions:
- Starting at 8:00 am shuttle buses will transport individuals and groups from Banning Park, 1331 Eubank Ave., Wilmington, CA to the parade line up area for drop off.
- Limited parking is available at Banning Park and surrounding areas
- Parade begins at 10:00 am sharp!
- Parade route from 510 Broad Ave is North on Avalon Blvd. 1 mile to Banning Park
- Entire parade route time is approximately 45 mins – 1 hour
- Upon completion of parade a free picnic and rally will take place at Banning Park beginning at 11:00 am
- Live entertainment and free hot dog and beverage picnic will be provided
- At 11:30 our rally program officially begins with an opening ceremony including,
Labor guest speakers and an introduction of elected officials concluding with music and dancing at the main stage
- NO ELECTED OFFICIALS WILL BE ALLOWED TO GIVE SPEECHES OR CAMPAIGN,
INCLUDING ANY DISTRIBUTION OF CAMPAIGN MATERIALS! This is a day for LABOR!
- There will be 40 vendor booths of various unions and Labor organizations to distribute free informational materials, a kid zone for children including face painting, pop corn, cotton candy, puppet show, book give away.
