It has almost been a year since 19,000 gallons of jet fuel leaked at Red Hill Fuel Facility. Zero fuel has been removed from the tanks outside of what leaked in April 2022. Our aquifer will remain in serious danger until Red Hill is empty.
We demand the Navy submit a complete defueling plan immediately, include civilian oversight onto the Red Hill Joint Task Force, stop the dumping of “filtered” water into Hālawa Stream & halt their daily overpumping of our aquifer.
O'ahu Water Protectors will be marching & speaking at the SAFE Rally earlier in the day in front of EPA HQ.
We mahalo the ʻōpio at @auhawaiiclub & the other DC-based universities for their assistance in organizing this event with us.
Our Kia’i are everywhere & we will be heard.
