CODEPINK Announces Silent Procession Through the U.S. Senate to Mourn Palestinian Children Killed by Israel with US Weapons
Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, CODEPINK will lead peaceful, silent processions through the Senate office buildings on Capitol Hill. The processions will begin at 11:00 a.m. EST in the Dirksen Senate Cafeteria, located at 50 Constitution Ave NE, Washington, DC. Participants will wear photos of Palestinian children who have been killed, showing the tragic human impact of U.S.-funded genocide in Gaza.
“We will gather to mourn the deaths of the thousands of children whose lives have been snuffed out,” says CODEPINK cofounder Medea Benjamin. “This silent procession is our way of bearing witness to the ongoing suffering and to urge Senators to stop sending Israel the weapons that fuel this conflict by signing on the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders.”
