CODEPINK to Protest Trump at “Road to Majority” Conference in Washington DC
When: Friday June 8 | 12:00pm
Where: Omni Shoreham Hotel | 2500 Calvert St NW Washington, DC 20008

Washington DC, June 8 2016 -- CODEPINK will stage a protest against US presidential candidate Donald Trump and his hateful rhetoric in front of the Omni Shoreham Hotel this Friday, June 10, as Trump speaks at the Road to Majority Conference.
The Road to Majority Conference is hosted annually by the Faith & Freedom Coalition, a Christian organization made up of evangelical voters. Donald Trump has been invited to speak at the conference, among other conservative Republicans. CODEPINK finds it hypocritical that Donald Trump would be invited to speak at a religious conference given his racist, hateful statements and proposed policies that violate the basic religious tenet of “Love thy neighbor.”
“Trump has said that he will deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, build a wall along the Mexican border, and ban all Muslims from entering the country. He has repeatedly made misogynistic statements, explicitly called for violence against peaceful protesters, and voiced support for torture, including waterboarding,” said CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin. “Is this really the sort of person we want to lead the United States of America?”
CODEPINK will stage a protest in front of the hotel at the same time that Trump is speaking inside to call him out on his immoral, racist, sexist, and xenophobic views. We will call for a Presidential candidate who will prioritize diplomacy, end militarization and violence domestically and abroad.
