Sign the petition asking pop star Justin Bieber to cancel his performance in Apartheid Israel
Between Ben & Jerry’s and author Sally Rooney, it’s been a year of BDS wins against apartheid Israel and now we’ve got a new target: Pop star Justin Bieber is scheduled to perform in Tel Aviv on October 13, 2022.
Bieber’s tour is named Justice, after his new album, so it would be quite the slap in the face for him to cross a picket line to perform in the country that withholds the basic rights of Palestinians. Bieber has already faced criticism for using samples of Dr. Martin Luther King in the album’s songs with Rolling Stone calling it “a jarring musical misstep” and Insider saying that the use of the samples was “performative.” Bieber responded to the criticism by listening and learning and then admitting that he “just didn’t know better” and hadn’t received an education in Black history during his upbringing. “I want to keep growing and learning about just all social injustices and what it looks like for me to be better,” Bieber said.
Help us educate Bieber on the injustices Israel commits against Palestinians and how he can support the Palestinian struggle by joining the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement by canceling his October 2022 performance in Israel.
