Join CODEPINK in solidarity at the Mothers Rebellion for Climate Justice: Climate Story Hour and Nap-In!
California Science Center, at the entrance to the IMAX Theatre.
Who is Mothers Rebellion for Climate Justice? They are mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, daughters and allies around the world. Who know that those least responsible for the climate crisis are also the most impacted. Who believe in the power of mothers and caregivers to demand climate justice.
What is a Climate Story Hour and Nap-In? It’s a short, child friendly climate action in which we disrupt the business as usual of a public space with a peaceful “nap-in” to show we’re tired of the lack of concern for the future of our children and the planet. This is preceded by a brief outward facing Mothers Rebellion circle with all of us holding small handmade signs about why we are gathering, and a children’s story written just for the occasion.
Bring: Yourselves, your children, your mother, your friends. All ages and all genders welcome! You may also bring a stuffed animal along with a small pillow or blanket for the nap-in.
Why May 13th? On this day, mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, daughters and allies will create circles all over the world in a global demonstration. Together we will express our demand for action towards the goal of an equitable global community living on a thriving Earth.
