Dear Peacemaker,
As we move into 2021 it is our task to change the narrative and undermine the potency of the stories laced with dreams of war and more weapons. As we watched the NDAA hearings, yesterday China was used as the excuse to increase military spending. We should be cutting the Pentagon by $350bn, not increasing it. Senator Cornyn suggested the threat of China was a reason for a yes vote on the NDAA and more funding for war.
Tell Senator Cornyn hating China affects the people he pretends to care about in his own state. Stop escalating Sinophobia.
Thank you for your incredible engagement during 2020! In 2021 we will continue to dismantle their weak narratives that drive us to war, while we lay the path to peace. Any story that creates separation and hate is not serving the future of life on Earth or the needs of the people. Spreading lies and hate is beyond irresponsible.
Always feel free to engage deeper with us; we have a fabulous China working group that is working on ways to debunk the lies, that seem to come faster than flies. Reach out to [email protected] if you would like to get more involved.
CODEPINK is excited to launch from our Local Peace Economy campaign; Planting Seeds of Peace, in partnership with our friend V (formally Eve Ensler) and 1 Billion Rising. A defiant creative call for revival, restoration and transformation to RESIST capitalism and the war machine by cultivating a revolutionary garden. Grow with us! Gardens remind us of our enduring connection to life, to each other and to Earth, which compels us to do everything in our power to protect and nurture life and all that is sacred without doing harm.
Onwards to creating conditions that lead to Peace,
Alice, Angela, Glen, Jan, Jodie, Liz, and Stephen,
P.S. If you would like to join our team, the China Is Not Our Enemy campaign is hiring!
