6:30-6:40 | Co-Creating a Good Call-In Script |
Call your reps office together using this script. It is better to have a few scripts to rotate, so feel free to shake it up! “Hi, my name is _____ and I live in ____ (zip code). As your constituent, I am concerned about recent escalation between the US and Iran. We do not want another war - I worry this escalation will bring us to the brink of a nuclear exchange. I am asking for you to not authorize anymore weapons shipments and I’m asking you to call on President Biden to deal with this diplomatically, not militarily. We need peace now, please put out a public statement against going to war with Iran and do everything you can to pressure the Biden Administration to pursue diplomacy.” |
6:30-6:45 | Get Your Neighbors Involved! |
Have everyone at your calling party text two people (friends, family, neighbors) that live in your district. Send them the script with the phone number to call and add a little message about why this is important to them. “This issue means a lot to me because _________. If we could get even just one more call to our Rep’s office that would make a huge difference!” It’s important for people to feel like they could actually make a difference, and if they are your friend or family member, they care about what you are passionate about! |
