Did you know I’ve been in Washington DC bringing your messages to powerful members of Congress almost every single day this year? It’s been exciting, exhausting, powerful, and necessary. I know you may have seen the videos, when Nancy Pelosi looked like she was going to punch me in the face, or when we brought Susan Sarandon to Congress with us for Mother’s Day! But CODEPINK is a lot bigger than what we are doing in DC, and our powerful organizing has received lots of backlash from the warmongers. We’ve been arrested, bruised, and even received death threats for our work for peace; but we’ve also received beautiful messages from Gaza thanking us for our work. That’s who we do it for, that’s one important reason why we keep showing up every day.
And the whole reason we are able to show up anywhere at all is because of supporters like you. CODEPINK only exists because of peace activists like you who want us to keep doing the work we are doing.
This Giving Tuesday, you can support our local chapters in the following ways:
For the first time in a month, eleven aid trucks entered northern Gaza. Instead of letting them be delivered to their destinations, Israel barred some of the trucks from going where they needed to go. In Gaza, our friend Mohammed calls what he’s experiencing a “slow death.” I can’t remember a day I’ve woken up in the past year that I haven’t heard news that broke my heart in two — whether it be in Gaza or Lebanon.
On my trips to Gaza, I met so many kind, generous, and loving people who welcomed CODEPINK in with open arms. I hope one day we can return to Gaza and join hand in hand as Palestinians rebuild their homes, schools, and hospitals. Hearing from people in Gaza, like Bisan the journalist who has been reporting on the genocide every day, always reminds me what our task is. We need to keep pressuring the United States government to stop arming Israel and to educate Americans about what our country is doing — and bring them into the movement with us! Our chapters have done a great job at bringing in their communities and shifting public opinion in the last year, and we need your help to keep supporting them.
This might have been the busiest year at CODEPINK yet. For over twenty-two years, we’ve been growing and it’s all thanks to you. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do and CODEPINK wouldn’t even exist. In the last few months, our feminist anti-war message has been necessary and successful. Although we are heartbroken every day and the powers that be threaten to shut us down or hurt us — we are steadfast in our demands for peace. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making CODEPINK be a home for me and tens of thousands of people around the world.
Support CODEPINK in 2025, we need you more than ever.
