From the notorious Qalandia checkpoint

PEACECAMP_17_A.jpg

Ariel_P.jpgI am in Palestine and Israel for the month of July, witnessing life under occupation. On Sunday, I will attend the trial of human rights defender Issa Amro as he faces 18 politically motivated charges in Israeli military court. This is the kind of solidarity and experiential learning that happens on our CODEPINK trips and peace camps.

Attend our August 26-27 Sonoma Valley Peace Camp and travel the world with us as a delegate for peace.

Upcoming trips:

  • August 26–27 CODEPINK Peace Camp, Sonoma County, CA
  • September 10–23 Iraq/Kurdistan
  • October 29–November 5 Cuba
  • November 10–12 US-Mexico Watch Border Convergence
  • November 11-19 Palestine

During our Peace Camp, I will talk about my experiences in Palestine. From the notorious Qalandia checkpoint to the growth of outpost settlements in the Jordan Valley to life in Bethlehem’s Aida refugee camp, I will relay my experiences and what we can do to support the Palestinian struggle for peace.

Learn more about the opportunities to travel with CODEPINK—from Sonoma Valley to Cuba to the Middle East and more.

With Donald Trump in the White House making enemies the world over, now is the time to promote people-to-people ties and show a very different face of the American people.

P.S. For summer reading, we recommend Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman’s Kingdom of Olives and Ash, chronicling life in occupied Palestine, and Choman Hardi’s Considering the Women in Iraq/Kurdistan. And watch this terrific 30-minute documentary about the US military base in Guantanamo, Cuba, All Guantanamo is Ours.
