CODEPINK to Host Event in Tempe to Urge Congresswoman Sinema to Support the Iran Deal

CODEPINK Press Release August 18, 2015

Contact: Mitch Rubin, [email protected], 602-348-1566

When: Monday, August 31, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Where: Culinary Dropout, 149 South Farmer, Tempe, AZ 85281

Tempe, Arizona-- Activists from the peace group CODEPINK will join with protesters from End the War Coalition outside of Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema's August Happy Hour at the end of the month to urge her to support the Iran Nuclear Deal.

It is imperative that Congress pass the Iran Nuclear Deal--a key step in making our country and the world safer by avoiding another disastrous war of choice in the Middle East. The Deal will help improve relations with Iran, a key nation in the Middle East. Improved relations with Iran can lead to efforts to work cooperatively to find solutions to the crises in the region, including Iraq, Syria and Yemen. Defeating ISIL, for example, will only be possible with the help of Iran.

"I believe that we must give diplomacy a chance to create peace with Iran. Otherwise, more of the world's children will die in another war of choice. Our soldiers, Iran's soldiers and innocent children will be harmed or worse if we do not attempt to create a peaceful Middle East. Diplomacy Now," said local CODEPINK activist, Virginia Haulfalire.

CODEPINK and End the War Coalition encourage all peace-lovers to call Representative Sinema’s office at (602) 956-2285 or (202) 225-9888 and ask her to support the Iran arms deal. Also, both organizations urge local activisits to join them at 12 PM, Wednesday August 26, asking Representative Sinema to support the Iran nuclear arms deal at 44th & Thomas Rd 2944 N. 44th Street Suite 150, Phoenix , AZ 85018.
