Earth Day 2026

The U.S. is escalating warfare globally, from Venezuela to Palestine to Iran. The first months of 2026 have laid bare the contradictions, hypocrisies, and insidious interests of the U.S. war economy — but we’re also seeing people all over the world organize and respond. At the same time as the U.S. and its allies escalate this resource-driven, environmentally catastrophic warfare, we are also seeing people connect the dots as to the real reasons why, with phrases like “No Blood for Oil” on protest signs across the country. Venezuela has the world’s largest known oil reserves, and Iran has the third. The U.S. military is acting as the enforcement mechanism for the fossil fuel industry, tech billionaires, and weapons contractors. It is also the world's largest institutional polluter, and its 800+ toxic bases in over 80 countries make it one of the largest contributors to the destruction of global ecosystems and public health.

As data centers, only made possible through this warfare, and funded for more warfare, are forced on communities around the country, and anti-war sentiment is more popular than ever, we need to be making the connections between our organizing against war and imperialism, and for a livable planet. This Earth Month, join us in making these local and global connections to build an unstoppable movement for the people and planet.
