DC: Mother's Day At the Venezuelan Embassy

Event Description

Join us on Mother's Day to celebrate peace and love at the Venezuelan embassy. Bring messages of peace to surround the embassy with love to bring us back to the radical roots of a Mother's Day for peace.

Embassy Protectors are living and working in the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, DC with the permission of the elected government of Venezuela to prevent right-wing extremists and the US-coup leader Juan Guaido from taking over the embassy. Under the Vienna Convention, the US has a responsibility to protect the embassy, which it is failing to do.

Join us for peaceful action at the Embassy to celebrate Mother's Day

Tying opposition to US military intervention to supporting the Maduro regime is a serious mistake.
The conflict in Venezuela is between Venezuelans. The opposition to Maduro has the support of a
large number of Venezuelans because the Maduro regime has had major problems with corruption and cronyism. You should be at the US Capitol instead, lobby Congress to deny funds for any military action against Venezuela. Code Pink has been shamefully silent about the vicious dictator Assad in Syria, focused only on US intervention. Some of your allies are overt supporters of the fascist Assad. Stop seeing the world only through you Americanist eyes. Try to put yourselves in the shoes of a Syrian or Venezuelan.
