DC: Hands Off Venezuela: Vigil & Community Gathering

DC_Vigil___Community_Gathering.jpg

Join us today at 5:30 PM for a solemn vigil in front of the Embassy of Cuba to honor the 32 Cuban nationals killed in the recent U.S. attack on Venezuela. These deaths come amid a dangerous escalation that includes the kidnapping of Venezuela’s sitting president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, an unprecedented act that violates international law and threatens to plunge the region into a wider war.

After the vigil, we will walk together to Busboys and Poets for a community gathering and conversation. Venezuelans living in DC will share firsthand perspectives on what is happening right now in Venezuela, how people are responding, what the situation looks like on the ground, and how we can offer real, material solidarity from here.

Meet us in front of the Cuban Embassy for the vigil, or join us afterward at Busboys and Poets at 2021 14th St NW, Washington, DC
