CODEPINK’s Cut The Pentagon, Taking Action for the People and Planet: Anti-Imperialist Campaign Action Series
Join CODEPINK for our Anti-Imperialist Campaign Series’s focus on our Cut the Pentagon campaign to learn more about the upcoming trillion-dollar Pentagon budget and what we can do to redirect funds for death and destruction to resources for healthcare, education, housing, and climate justice.
These weeks of education and action kicks off with a webinar hosted by national COEPINK co-director, Danaka Katovich, to discuss:
- The history of the Pentagon budget fueling waste, war, and inequality
- How the “big beautiful bill” secured billions of dollars more for the military budget
- What is at stake when in invest in war over the people and the planet
- How our constant funding of the military led to the deployment of troops in American cities
During the weeks in focus, through social media series, articles, and a radio show, we will share facts and resources on the tradeoffs, how the Big Beautiful Bill will result in millions of hard-working Americans losing access to essential resources - including Medicaid and SNAP, and how resources are hard earned dollars are being diverted from crucial human and environmental protection services are placed directly into the pockets of private companies and the top 5% wealthiest individuals.
We will conclude with tangible ways you can take action to Cut the Pentagon. Studies have clearly shown that campaign contributions from war profiteers heavily influence our representatives when it comes time to vote for the Pentagon budget every year. The Pentagon’s blank check ends with us! Join our Cut the Pentagon weeks and let's end it together.

1️⃣ Monday, November 3, 8pm ET Webinar: Defund the Pentagon & Kick the Military Out of Our Cities!
The Trump Administration first deployed the National Guard to the streets of DC under the guise of “fighting crime” – what we saw instead was the blatant violence and intimidation against communities already under attack. Then, Trump sent the National Guard to Chicago to do the same thing. Our cities have known for a long time what works when it comes to lowering violent crime rates – its investment into life-affirming programs and deliberate moves towards equity and justice. The flooding of our cities with military personnel is directly tied to the country’s ever-inflating Pentagon budget. The oppression and violence we ship around the world comes home – we have to defund the Pentagon and invest in our communities if we want to achieve peace and justice. Join us for a discussion with organizers and figures in DC and Chicago.

Byron Sigcho Lopez, Alderman of Chicago's 25th Ward
Afeni Evans DC Activist and Army Veteran
Danaka Katovich, CODEPINK National Co-Director
