📧Write to the White House and State Department:
Hello, my name is [First and Last] from [City, State].
I am concerned about licensing and oversight of firearms exports, including approval of semi-automatic assault weapons and sniper rifles that have been moved to the Department of Commerce from the Department of State. The Department of Commerce isn't required to notify Congress about these sales.
I was glad that you said that these exports should be moved back to the State Department oversight, but this has not yet happened. Many of these "small arms" are semi-automatic rifles and other weapons sold to foreign military and police agencies. These weapons are often used to harm communities, and the public deserves transparency in the arms trade. Please reverse this regulation and move all firearms sales back to the Department of State.
