It was so wonderful to be in a sea of pink on Mother’s Day as we came out in NYC to call for an end to war. Together we brought to life the words of Julia Ward Howe’s first call for a Mother Day: "From the bosom of the devastated earth a voice goes up with our own. It says, 'Disarm, disarm!'"
We strolled and danced in the bright sunshine with the Rude Mechanical Orchestra, Granny Peace Brigade, and others. We gave out bundles of lilacs and read the Mother’s Day proclamation aloud. People smiled as we passed by and became a part of our celebration of life, love, and the creation mothers represent. See more photos here!
Save the date! Join us June 17 in NYC for the Women’s March to Ban the Bomb! We will be hitting the streets in pink to celebrate the UN resolution calling for negotiations on a treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons and demanding an end to these weapons of mass destruction once and for all!
Towards life!
