CODEPINK Coachella Valley to Hold Weekly Silent Vigil for Palestine Through September Outside ‘Forever Monroe’ Statue
PALM SPRINGS - Each Thursday night of September from 7-9 pm, the CODEPINK chapter of Coachella Valley will hold a silent vigil outside the ‘Forever Monroe’ statue as a reminder of the U.S. taxpayer-funded genocide in Gaza.
The local antiwar group is holding the non-violent vigil to show solidarity with oppressed people everywhere while reminding our community that our tax dollars are still funding a genocide.
“It is important to keep coming together as a community and work together to end imperialism,” explained Coachella Valley peace activist Arcelia Castillo
The silent vigil will be held from 7-9 pm starting Thursday, Sept 3rd, and will return every Thursday throughout the month.
