CODEPINK, Busboys and Poets to Hold a Community Forum on 25 Years of the War on Terror
WASHINGTON, D.C. - CODEPINK and Busboys and Poets will host a public forum titled "25 Years of the War on Terror: Where Do We Go from Here?" on September 10, 2026, at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C. The event will feature discussions with Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CODEPINK; Linda Sarsour, Palestinian-American community organizer and author; and Ryan Grim, journalist from Drop Site News.
The forum aims to reflect on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks and the subsequent "War on Terror." It will address the enduring impacts of prolonged military engagements, surveillance, and domestic and international policies on global and national landscapes.
Benjamin and Sarsour will engage in a conversation moderated by Grim, focusing on the legacy of 9/11, the resulting global disorder, and the public's response from grassroots movements to legislative actions. The discussion will explore lessons learned over the past quarter-century and consider future directions for peace and justice.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time at Busboys and Poets, located at 14 V St NW, Washington, D.C., 20002. The forum is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
