Since last week, five Democratic Senators have come out in support of the Iran nuclear deal because of pressure from activists like you. We are thrilled to tell you that Senators Harry Reid, Claire McCaskill, Jack Reed, Debbie Stabenow and Jeff Merkley have all decided to defend diplomacy by supporting the deal!
But we still have a lot of work ahead of us. Here's what you can do:
1) TOMORROW, Wednesday, August 26, is a national day of action. Over 200 events have been planned at Congressional offices to tell elected officials to support the Iran deal! Will you join (or plan!) one of these events near you?
2) Make calls to these undecided Democratic Senators and urge them to defend diplomacy and vote in favor of the deal! Call the Congressional switchboard now, (202) 224-3121 and then tweet at them!

3) Join us in Washington DC on September 8 for "Hands Across the Capitol" at noon. We’ll join hands and surround the Capitol Building to show support for the Iran Peace Deal! Please come and invite your friends.
After “Hands Around the Capitol,” we encourage folks to stay in DC for the peace insurrection encampment, where we will lobby Congress as well as have a presence outside to show visible support for the deal. The encampment will stay erected until September 17, when Congress is required to finish voting on the Iran deal.
Housing board request for people in DC area: We will be having folks joining from all over the country, and they need places to stay. Can you host one or more activists from out of town? Do you need housing? If so, please email [email protected] and let him know how many people you can host and for how many days, if you have pets (for allergy purposes), and if your house is handicap accessible. Save the date for the vigil and RSVP on Facebook now!
Make sure Congress hears from all of us, not just the war lobbyists, as they head back to Washington. For now, please take the time to call these undecided Senators.
For a peaceful future,
Alli, Chelsea, Janet, Jodie, Lisa, Medea, Michaela, Michelle, Mike, Nancy and Tighe
