Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz arrived in DC yesterday to ask the Pentagon for an extra $1 billion in “emergency aid.” Tell Secretary Austin to say NO! |
Dear friend,
If you thought the original $3.8 billion in military “aid” the US gives to Israel every year was bad, get a load of this: Israel is asking the Pentagon for $1 BILLION more in “emergency” aid. That’s right. Israel’s defense minister Benny Gantz arrived in Washington, DC yesterday to make that request and Senator Lindsay Graham said he would make sure Israel gets the money.
According to Axios, the $1 billion would be used to replenish Israel’s “Iron Dome,” which is the Israeli Occupation Forces’ missile defense system, but also for the purchase of precision-guided missiles. CODEPINK wouldn’t call bombing Gaza continuously for almost two weeks and being the most well-funded military in the region an “emergency” for Israel. If the US should be footing the bill for anything, it should be the rebuilding of the Palestinian homes it funded the destruction of (to which the Biden administration allocated a measly $110 million).
The status quo is that whatever Israel wants from the United States, Israel gets. Paid for with American tax dollars, the Israeli government continues its reign of terror over Palestinians as we speak. It’s telling that Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz feels comfortable coming to Washington, DC not even a week after thousands of Palestinians and allies flooded the streets of the city. We need to resist every single dollar sent to Israeli apartheid.
Tell Secretary Austin to say NO to $1 billion more to Israel!
The US government needs to stop funding Palestinian death. US companies need to stop profiting from Palestinian death. We’ve already seen a powerful shift in the media narrative about Israel’s bombing campaign against Gaza. Our tireless activism is working, which is why we have to keep resisting the funding of Israeli apartheid!
