Register for Cuba Advocacy Day

Copia_de_se.png

On Tuesday, April 14, we will be walking the halls of the U.S. Capitol to meet with Members of Congress and their staff to demand urgent action on Cuba. After witnessing firsthand the impact of U.S. policy during our recent delegation, we are bringing those stories directly to Congress with clear legislative demands.

  • Step 1: Please sign up to receive important information about Advocacy Day
  • Step 2: Look up your congressperson here.
  • Step 3: Reach out to your representatives to set up a meeting for April 14, as soon as possible. If you require assistance, kindly email Michelle. (See sample email for a meeting)
  • Step 4: Once you get your appointment ok, please fill out this appointment list form to help us connect you with other advocates in your area and answer inquiries from congressional staff that we may come across.

IMPORTANT

Please make every effort to schedule appointments to meet directly with the elected official. Although it is common to meet with staff aides in a congressional office, your representative or senator should make every effort to meet with you as you are a constituent. However, their schedules might affect their ability to meet with you.

OUR LEGISLATIVE ASK

We are calling on Congress to support:

  • S.J.Res. 124 (Senate)
  • H.J.Res. 153 (House)

These War Powers Resolutions would prohibit unauthorized U.S. military action against Cuba, including the imposition of a naval blockade or any use of force without explicit approval from Congress.

TENTATIVE AGENDA

9:30 AM – Group briefing (messaging, roles, logistics)
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Meetings with Members of Congress (House)
1:00 – 2:00 PM – Lunch
2:00 – 4:00 PM – Senate meetings
