This is urgent.
The Senate may vote as soon as TOMORROW on S.J.Res.7 to end U.S. support for the brutal Saudi-led war on Yemen. This war has had such catastrophic consequences that every 10 minutes a Yemeni child dies of malnutrition as a direct result of the Saudi bombing campaign.
Tomorrow’s vote — a procedural “motion to discharge” — will be an absolutely crucial test of whether this bill will ultimately pass the pass in the Senate. We hear tomorrow will be close, which is why we need you to contact your senators as soon as possible.
Call 1-833-STOP-WAR (786-7927) to be connected to the senators from your state.
Follow the instructions to reach your senators, and when connected say use this script:
Please support war powers resolution S.J.Res. 7 that would end U.S. support for the brutal Saudi-led war in Yemen. U.S. military aid is fueling a humanitarian crisis, and it’s time for it to stop.
Then send them an email reminding them you need them to support S.J.Res. 7.
The UN deems the humanitarian crisis in Yemen the worst in the world - over 15 million Yemeni people are so threatened by famine that they only have access to one meal a day and have no idea if they will have enough food to eat the next. Drinking water is scarce, which has caused an unprecedented cholera outbreak. The stakes could not be higher to end U.S. support for this catastrophic crisis.
Last month, we got the House to resoundingly add its support to end this devastating war in Yemen. Once we get the Senate to do the same we will be on our way to ending U.S. involvement. Call your Senators and send them an email now. Yemen can’t wait.
