This summer, communities across the US will join for a Summer of Peace and Love.
During these difficult times, it can feel impossible to imagine another way forward. We are told that competition is inevitable, that military domination keeps us safe, that technology controlled by billionaires will save us, and that ordinary people are powerless to change the direction of society.
But history tells a different story.
This is a profoundly unifying moment. People fighting to stop war and militarism are fighting the same systems as those trying to stop climate collapse, corporate exploitation, mass surveillance, and the reckless expansion of AI technologies that consume enormous amounts of energy and water while concentrating power in fewer and fewer hands. These struggles are connected.
For the month of August, join us to establish summer camps nationwide, each organized to be a living laboratory for the future we are trying to build.

What the Camps Will Include
At a moment when the political and economic system is designed to make people feel powerless and alone, our camps will create living, breathing examples of another kind of society — one rooted in care, creativity, sustainability, mutual aid, and collective liberation instead of militarism, surveillance, extraction, and profit.
Each camp will be locally led and shaped by the communities most impacted by militarism, extraction, and technological exploitation. Activities may include:
- Teach-ins
- Poetry readings
- Song and story circles
- Free concerts
- Clothing swaps
- Creative workshops
- Knitting and sewing circles
- Peace and love parades
- And More...
The summer camps will be spaces of revolutionary imagination!
Why Now?
For decades, our government’s budget has been skewed toward war. Today, that danger is closer to home than ever. “War Secretary” Pete Hegseth is now proposing an obscene $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget — a roughly 50 percent increase in military spending — while the Trump administration slashes healthcare, housing, education, and other basic human needs. And to justify this staggering level of military spending, our government keeps the public trapped in a permanent state of fear and endless war — constantly manufacturing new enemies, new threats, and new conflicts abroad.
But right now, we have an extraordinary opportunity to challenge the status quo.
Why? Because the American people understand endless war does not keep us safe.
After trillions of dollars wasted, millions of lives shattered, and entire countries destroyed, people across the political spectrum are exhausted by permanent war. Polls show that around 70% of people in the United States do not feel optimistic about their futures and want to end war. Americans are also increasingly alarmed by an economy dominated by militarism, surveillance, and unrestrained AI expansion. Tech corporations promise salvation while consuming enormous amounts of energy, replacing workers, and concentrating unprecedented power in the hands of a tiny elite.
But history shows that moments of crisis and darkness can also give birth to extraordinary movements for resistance, solidarity, and transformation.
From a War Economy to a Peace Economy
The heart of this project is a simple but profound question:
What would it look like to organize our society around caring for people & the planet instead of maximizing profit, war, and technological control?
We believe the resources currently devoted to militarism and exploitative technologies should instead fund:
- Renewable energy,
- Healthcare,
- Housing,
- Education,
- Public transportation,
- Sustainable agriculture,
- Arts and culture,
- & dignified jobs that heal rather than destroy...
We reject the idea that endless war and technological domination are inevitable. Humanity can choose another path.
A Call to Build Together
A New Summer of Love will not belong to any single organization.
We are a broad coalition of grassroots groups, local organizers, students, artists, tech workers, union organizers, veterans, faith communities, climate groups, peace organizations, and unaffiliated individuals. National coordination helps connect sites, share resources, amplify media, and support logistics, while local communities lead the work on the ground.

- Come resist.
At a time when so many people feel isolated and powerless, this will be a chance to reconnect and energize one another. Movements are built not only through struggle, but through joy, relationships, music, and shared purpose.
