For the 22nd year in a row, CODEPINK Bay Area will be walking the Golden Gate Bridge for peace on Mother's Day! Join us at noon at the southeast side visitor parking lot. Click here for the meet-up location.
We will gather and walk out together on the Golden Gate Bridge, going half way, then return for a program including Palestinian-American writer and poet Lorene Zarou-Zouzounis. Also invited are poets Anita Barrows and Tarnel Abbott. There will be a Palestinian dabke dance lesson, children's activities, music and song, and mother's day treats for all. This family-friendly event is dedicated to the peace warriors of love, David Hartsough and Renay Davis, who left us this year.
Our peace walk is a celebration of all mothers everywhere, raising our voices and hearts in our deep longing for peace and justice and honoring this life-giving Mother of us all. Join us. Wear lots of pink. Optional: Bring flowers and small signs (no sticks) such as "Let Gaza Live" "Disarm" "Feminists Stand With Palestine" "Arms Embargo Now" "War is Not Green" "China is Not Our Enemy" "No War on Iran" "Divest From the War Economy" "Cut the Pentagon" "End War".
As always, bring signs and wear pink!
Taking public transit to the Golden Gate Bridge is the best way to get to the Bridge because parking is extremely limited and there are ongoing construction projects at or near the Bridge.
Please carpool or take public transportation.
