We encourage people to create opportunities to gather and lead conversations that celebrate, question, educate, and envision.
Conversations over meals have been a place for healing and peacemaking for millennia. When we share stories and ask questions, we learn and feel more connected. We feel it is time to gather our communities in conversation and connection.
Use your imagination: you can host a gathering in your home, make it potluck and invite friends. You can ask a local restaurant to make space available and reach out to the larger community. Pick a date, venue and format that works for you. Invite people from different backgrounds and experiences to share their rich stories. People are longing to connect and talk. You can hold a space for that to happen. Our team is here and ready to support you. We will support you by posting your event in our Action Calendar, aiding in outreach, and giving ideas.
After your Pop-Up for Peace, please send a short report back (number of people, how the discussion went, a quote about your or someone's experience) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Post photos to your Facebook and/or Twitter, and tag us (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)! Learn & read report-backs other member hosted Pop-Ups!
