Bush's war on Iraq that she went against the grain and wrote a song calling out his war-mongering administration. 20 years later, she has joined a chorus of those denying a genocide. P!NK recently shared an Instagram post by StopAntisemitism which criticized Macklemore's pro-Palestine remarks at a concert, calling for him to be removed from Ed Sheeran's tour. Ironically, she called out a man who was speaking up, as she once did, for the children and the innocent civilians murdered by the war machine.
Macklemore has been deeply outspoken in support of the Palestinian cause, using his large platform to raise awareness around and condemn the U.S.-Israeli genocide. As a self-proclaimed feminist and human rights advocate, P!NK should be doing the same. Now, 20 years later, these lyrics are more relevant than ever. The U.S. has been engaged in a globally condemned genocide in Palestine as well as an illegal war on Iran. In both cases, unfathomable atrocities have been committed, and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians have been killed by indiscriminate bombing, harrowing living conditions, and combat on the ground.
As someone who wrote such a deeply moving anti-war song, your recent admonition of Macklemore as Ed Sheeran's tour opener is heartbreaking. Macklemore took the stage and stated facts that can't be denied anymore: Palestinians are, and have been, experiencing brutal genocide and occupation by Israel. Acknowledging the Palestinian experience only bolsters peace, freedom, and safety for everyone in the world. To deny this truth is to bury your head in the sand while the violence and war continue.
In your own words, how do you sleep when the rest of us cry? We are here to help you learn what is happening, beyond lies and propaganda, because you have shown in the past that you do care. 67% of Jews in the U.S. now stand against Zionism, and this did not happen in a vacuum. The world has seen the murderous actions of Israel and is deciding to stand firmly against it. In the past three years alone, Israel has killed thousands upon thousands of Palestinians in cold blood, has destroyed all of Gaza's infrastructure, and has blockaded the Strip to suffocation. Palestine has experienced its largest funerals in just the past month, one for 100+ members of the same family, and another for dozens of children's bodies that were found under the rubble of their homes.
The page that you reposted, StopAntisemitism, has done absolutely nothing to protect the Jewish community, and now they have you calling out a fellow artist, boosting their propaganda. Their whole mission consists of smearing individuals who find it hard to support the slaughter of women, children, and men in Palestine. Zionism is the true anti-semitic ideology, as it has convinced the world to conflate itself with Judaism. The post you shared on your story claimed that Israel was being accused of a "false" genocide. The United Nations, the International Court of Justice, and leading human rights organizations have recognized the situation in Palestine as a genocide ages ago.
The Palestinian people have experienced illegal occupation and apartheid by Israel since 1948, the year that militias came into the land, raided villages, stole homes, and created a mass displacement crisis of over 750,000 Palestinians. This violence that began over 70 years ago has been evolving into what it is now: Israel's complete demolition and ethnic cleansing of the land.
Moreover, a recent report documents how Palestinian women have been subjected to brutal sexual and gendered violence by Israeli soldiers, in prisons, in house raids, at checkpoints, and in practically every aspect of their lives. As a fellow woman, one who stands for equality, it should shock you to hear their documented experiences, including systematized rape, sexual enslavement, and sexual harassment of women, girls, men, and boys in Palestine.
All these crimes against humanity are threads of themes you presented in your song 20 years ago. In just the past three years, Israel, along with the U.S., has eclipsed the barbarity exhibited by the Bush's administration. In 2026, we are watching a live-streamed genocide that has targeted women, men, children, healthcare professionals, teachers, journalists, musicians, athletes, and the list goes on.
