We must make it clear to our government that we will not allow facilities in our civil society to be used to facilitate genocide. Our airports should not be allowed to ship off deadly weapons to kill civilians abroad.
Tell the Port of Oakland, the overseeing body of the Oakland Airport, that they must stop their complicity in the genocide in Gaza.
We, the undersigned individuals against occupation, demand that the Port of Oakland cease its complicity in genocide by allegedly aiding the Israeli military with weapons to kill innocent civilians in Gaza. It has been proven in recent research, that the Oakland International Airport (OAK), overseen by the Port of Oakland, has facilitated over 280 shipments of military cargo to the Nevtiam Air Base in Israel over the course of six months.
Why, as a key port for transportation, is OAK acting as an agent of war to help the Israeli government kill thousands of people in Gaza? When the situation in Gaza has been proven to be a genocide by human rights organizations and scholars, why is OAK content with being a major contributor to the genocide?
OAK should focus on serving the American people and their travels, not on genocide and destruction. People’s livelihoods are at stake, thousands of Palestinians have been killed, more have been displaced, Gaza is demolished. The Port of Oakland and its airport should not be the mediator of weapons to the Israeli military when it has shown the world what evil atrocities they act out with them. The Port of Oakland must end its complicity in genocide and cease its shipments of military cargo to the ruthless Israeli military.
